Q: Why am I getting voltage readings either side of the fuse holder with no fuse in place?

A: Fuse holders with LED indication will provide a voltage reading less than that of the battery itself as there is a resistor in series across the terminals. If you connect a load, you will not be able to power that load without a fuse in tact. In simple terms, you can measure lower voltage, but no amps will flow. This is normal for all fuse blocks with LED blown fuse indication.
