Description

TWO LUGS, BOTH ENDS OF THE RUN SORTED

70mm2 terminations are almost always done in pairs. Battery positive and negative. An inverter feed and its return. A busbar link at each end. This two pack covers the pair in one go, so you are not part way through a wiring job discovering you are one lug short.

WHY THE NARROW PALM EXISTS

The palm is the flat tab that bolts to your terminal. On a narrow palm lug that tab is slimmer, which matters when the studs sit close together or the battery case moulding crowds the terminal. Lithium battery terminals, compact busbars and tightly packed fuse blocks are where it earns its place. Same 70mm2 barrel, same 6mm hole, less width fighting for room.

OXYGEN FREE COPPER, ELECTRO TIN FINISHED

Made from high grade oxygen free copper with 99.9% conductivity by I.A.C.S standards, then electro tin plated so it holds up against damp, salt air and dust. The barrel is made to the correct wall thickness, which is what gives you a secure crimp rather than a joint that heats up under load.

AUSTRALIAN DIMENSIONS, YOUR EXISTING TOOLING

Manufactured to Australian dimensions, these lugs comply with the Australian standard and are fully compatible with existing Australian crimping tools. No adaptors, no hunting for a die that fits.

FAQS

Q: What cable size do these lugs suit?

A: They suit 70mm2 cable, which is 00 B&S in the Australian sizing convention.

Q: What size stud or bolt does the palm fit?

A: The palm has a 6mm hole, so it fits an M6 stud or bolt.

Q: What is the difference between a narrow palm lug and a standard palm lug?

A: The barrel and the cable size are identical. The narrow palm has a slimmer tab, so it fits where terminals sit close together or where a battery case moulding limits the space around the stud. If your terminal has plenty of clearance either style will work, so choose on the space you actually have.

Q: Do I need a special crimping tool?

A: No. These are made to Australian dimensions and work with standard Australian hydraulic and mechanical crimpers using the 70mm2 die.

Q: Are these suitable for lithium battery terminals?

A: Yes, and this is the most common reason people choose the narrow palm. Check your battery terminal takes an M6 bolt before ordering.

Q: Can I use these on a 240V circuit?

A: No. These are DC cable lugs for 12V and 24V systems. Any 240V work must be carried out by a licensed electrician using appropriate components.
